Codemasters is pushing its way into Japan with the January 15th release of Race Driver: GRID (we liked it) over there on PS3 and Xbox 360.

In order to get the idea of the super, mega-fun-fun, exciting, car driving game for all! into the minds of at least some of the residents of Toyko, a large coach wrapped in GRID-based images will be appearing. Yup, people attending the Toyko Auto Salon 2009 show at the Makuhari Messe will watch the bus fly by. People in the Shinjuku, Ikebukuro and Chiba areas will also get into the act.

Also, it gives us a good excuse to show some pictures of a Japanese bus covered in adverts for a game created by British developers! Enjoy.

This is cool. About time a western studio went out there and showed them how to make a driving game. Sure, Gran Turismo is fine, but that game has been in development far too long, that we might as well rename it Heart of Darkness.

Japanese driving games below GT are very hit and miss. If its arcadey like Sega Rally/Daytona/Initial D they are cool, and if not they sometimes leave a lot to be desired, with poor models, textures etc.

GRID is a fine game, that treads the line of arcade and realistic Codemasters driving game well, and it deserves to do well out there in japan.

Go Grid, Go!
