Some addictions can be kicked.

Once great footy star, Paul 'Gazza' Gascoigne lives a life of ups and downs that have taken in booze-fuelled binges, playing for Glasgow Rangers and Spurs; and on the upside, he once scored a cracker against Scotland in the European Championships. Well, according to The Sun, Gazza has managed to kick at least one addiction.

The great newspaper of record tells us that in order to get fit again, "He has even given up his cherished Nintendo Wii". Why? Why did Gazza feel the need for this course of action?

According to 'The Currant Bun', "He became addicted to the console while living alone in hotels last year, once playing its tenpin bowling game for six days solid".

Erm? Six days solid? With no sleep? Oh! It's The Sun.

Bowling for Six days Solid! he wants to be careful he may now go and commit crimes or killings after a gaming session that long!

Just who actually saw Gazza playing Wii for 6 Days solid? and if it was Gazza himself who admitted this then surly the evidence of pink elephant competitors should of shown his information was not entirly correct.

i was read The Sun for 6 minutes solid, i then cried for 6 days solid.

A fit, healthy person should be able to dodge sleep for 3 days with no lasting problems, though I'm not sure I'd like to test that - I've done over 30 hours before now, and the sensation of disconnect from reality is disconcernting enough for me to call it a day there (if you'll pardon the pun).

Beyond a few days and you're into the land of lasting mental health problems.

This guy was probably out of shape, overweight and, given his reported gaming addiction, taking stimulants to play for prolonged periods. It's prolly uppers AND the stress of sleep deprivation that did his heart in.

Frankly, after 20 hours his concentration and reaction times will have gone to crap, so I can't see the point (unless he was taking some military-grade pharma s**t)

Egad James! No, it's no good, I have to say it... "How did he manage to get himself and a Wii in his pants for two days?"

Wii and Pants... happy new year everybody.
