The ongoing saga of UK developer Free Radical continues... We have been reporting, correctly, that the Nottingham based company behind
Haze and
Timesplitters has not in fact gone bust or shut down. As
we have pointed out, it has in fact gone into administration.
This is a quite different state of affairs to "shutting its doors" or "ceasing to exist" as Internet scuttlebutt has made the situation out to be. We, like the official administrator, do not want to talk a company to death with rumour.
In fact, here is the
official word from Cameron Gunn from the official administrators Resolve Partners,"The company was placed in to administration yesterday afternoon.
"We will be spending the next three or four days assessing the financial position of the company but
it's business as usual, although we have asked that almost all of the employees apart from a skeleton crew remain at home.
"All employees have been paid up until the end of December and we hope to make another announcement before Christmas or very soon thereafter, but we must stress at this stage that it's business as usual."
So, as we have previously indicated in our reporting, the developer remains in a position whereby it could - albeit in reduced form - continue. Until the administrator reports otherwise, this is the actual situation.
