Nintendo has sent forth a schedule of upcoming games for its platforms. While there are some interesting tidbits in there, what's perhaps most notable is the lack of mention for Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on the DS.
When the game was announced, it was scheduled for release this winter, but no firm release date has been forthcoming. Now, with a fairly comprehensive-looking schedule of Nintendo platform titles through March (including plenty with a fairly nebulous 'Q1' listing) it looks like we might not be seeing this game until later in the year.
Before we get all doom and gloom about it, however, it's worth pointing out that Rockstar may have requested that the game didn't go on the list so it could make its own announcement, complete with fireworks.
Another thing of note in the line-up is Walk with me! Do you know your walking routine?. It's a first-party title that aims to follow-up on Nintendo's drive to make gamers fitter. In a nutshell, it monitors your walking and sets targets, while enabling users to compare their results with up to four chums (or your dog if you're soon inclined, apparently). To do all this, it has two pedometer peripherals bundled with the software. It's slated for release on February 20th.
Also highlighted by Nintendo is Mystery Case Files: Millionheir, another first-party offering. It's what you'd expect, really - a mystery game. The title features both competitive and co-operative multi-player modes. It's also set for release in February, with the 6th marked as the exact date.
On the Wii front, two titles that form part of Nintendo's plan to port GameCube titles to the system with Wii-specific control systems cropped up. The first on the schedule is Pikmin, which is set for release on February 6th. There wasn't a vast amount of detail given, we're just told that it features "Wii Remote and Nunchuk and predominant use of the Pointer System for quick strategic moves".
Also on there is Mario Power Tennis, in which, "Players wave the Wii Remote to execute forehand and backhand shots and direct the ball toward the left or right side of the court, affecting topspin, slice spin and special moves."
