Street Fighter Sackboys Hitting PSN?

Fight! Awww...

Posted by Staff
It looks like Street Fighter IV might be the latest game to get a so-cute-it'll-dissolve-your-teeth LittleBigPlanet makeover.

The images to the right and below would seem to suggest this is the case. You can see Chun-Li, Ryu, Zanghief and Guile all with the treatment. They popped up on Spanish forum psnow but have since been removed, "as requested by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe", according to the poster. The poster also didn't reveal the source of the images.

All that adds up, of course, to lingering doubt over whether the images are legitimate. It's perfectly plausible, given the other characters that have received the treatment (including other third-party characters such as Solid Snake and Sephiroth). Capcom did also tease that it "will also have another 'little' surprise coming to the PlayStation Network later in the holiday season", in a recent press release... and you'd by hard to push to get a surprise littler than this.

SPOnG is awaiting official word from Sony and Capcom.

For f**ks sake you and everyone else that mouths on about Halo IP has been done to the max should get a smack in the f**king face.

How the f**k has Halo IP been done to the max??

What about the Mario franchise? What about the Sonic franchise? What about Resident Evil? Ace Combat? Armoured Core? Devil May Cry??

Oh and what about Final Fantasy??? Those franchises have been done to death!!

And you know why? Because gamers want more!

So you and everyone else can go do one, I am absolutly sick at the absolute bullshit people come out with in regards to Halo we are only on the 3rd friggin game!!!!

There's more to overusing an IP than just the core games. Halo movie that never happened, but still might? Halo books? Halo Mountain Dew? Halo figurines? Halo Kubricks?

Just because Mario has been milked to death doesn't mean that Halo can be too.

There are stores in Japan that sell dedicated Mario and Final Fantasy merchandise...No need to now nitpick but I assumed the level of discussion was game based not products off of gaming.

Look, he (SS4) is a w****r, and a posterchild for retroactive abortion, but he does have a point, in this instance.

MS provides Halo and Halo-related information because there is a demand for such, were MS to have a major event sans a Halo-related announcement, they would be deluged with e-mails from angry Halo fanboys demanding to know "WTF is up with that?"

And there apparently is a double standard, whereby when MS does it its wrong, despite the fact that everyone else does the same crap, to a lesser or greater extent. MS' "abuse" of the Halo IP is no more egregious than any other comparable case, and IMNSHO less than some.

Also, LBP might be an amazing title, and the Sackboys might be running rampant at the mo', but I think they have a ways to go yet before they're anything aside from a transient phenomenon of the moment. Hell, the Wii is still skating that line...
