Fake Lara Croft Woos Super Rich

As ever style does not equal class

Fake Lara - classy, uh?

A recent event in Moscow may have defied Credit Crunches or Global Economic Recessions but it couldn't afford a proper Lara Croft. Yes, it may have been called the Millionaire Fair but it appears to have had pauper-level class when it came to video game style.

The picture to the right features one of the two young ladies who showed off the Hummers at the exhibition for Russian millionaires and their hangers-on. See what they've done there? Yup, a definite Faux Lara Croft thing going on.

Also exhibiting were organisations such as Wonderfur (yes, real fur coats - ideal for tiger-loving Ms Croft), Sony Electronics, and - obviously Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. Amid all that cash, you would have thought that someone could have stumped up for an appearance by Alison Carroll or even Nell McAndrew?

There's no chance of getting young Nell to play Lara these days.

She's too busy raising babies and doing the running thing ... or at least playing MC at the race starts - I was at Leeds "Abbey Dash" last week and she was, ahem, rocking the mic at the warmup. Before that she was at the Leeds 10k or maybe that was the Leeds half marathon.

Before *that* I bumped into her at a park in Rothwell - we were both out running the nippers. Course I didn't actually talk to her - that would be a bit, like, creepy or groupie-ish. Not that I didn't want to, but what would you say? "Hello famous person, you don't know me but I thought I'd interrupt whatever you happen to be doing just to say 'hello' so I can say that I once said hello to you, like it boost my social status or something". Ah s**t, I just did that "social status" thing by simply mentioning the encounter. Bugger.
