Microsoft UK's head of gaming and entertainment, Stephen McGill, hasn't been listening to Microsoft's absolutely top man, Steve Balmer.
Last month
Balmer clearly stated, "Price is not something you discuss externally. Nobody ever does. So, whether we were planning on cutting price the next day or in six months or a year, we're not going to discuss price changes."
This week, McGill told an interviewer
*, "We're a great price now. I'm not dropping the price for many many years in the future I would suspect." Crikey! So, no more price cuts for Xmas and that's final.
Sony won't be dropping its PS3 price for Xmas either, according to SCE's top dog,
Kaz Hirai last month. Nor will we be seeing any Nintendo price cuts
according to Ninty UK's David Yarnton.
So, that's it then... absolutely no price cuts at all.
We await price cutting news this week.
