With the Wii rushing past the Game Cube (it took five years for the latter to ship 20 million units, the Wii already stands at 26.5 this year alone) Nintendo has now given figures for the DS.
According to the company, the DS shipped 84.33 million units by the end of September 2008. The last six months saw 13.73 sent into retail. This compares to the GBA's 81.36 million units in its lifetime.
The Wii itself has already sold a 34.55 million units (with 229.85 million pieces of software having been delivered for the platform).
