UK Video Game Charts: PES gets a Fabled Kicking
Football - schmootball. Soccer - schmocker. UK video gamers, it seems, are far more comfortable playing around in mythic universes accompanied by a dog than they are kicking around on a pitch being married to a dog. Yes, Peter Molyneux's Xbox 360 exclusive, Fable II has kicked Pro Evolution 2009 off the top of the official UK charts.

We've also got other new entries to the All Formats Chart. Yes, you can tell that it's the lead-up to Xmas because, unlike last week, with its pathetic two new entries in the Top 10, this week we see four in the forms of: Fable II, Far Cry 2, Dead Space and Midnight Club: Los Angeles. You've got to admit that - despite what Peter Molyneux says about Fable II's casual nature, all those NE's are in squarely gamers' games.

Everything else in the Top 10 is basically 'as you are'. Two footy games; two Wii games; one LEGO game and that crazy-mad, Saints Row 2 (reviewed here) for the naughty among you.

So, what to look forward to in next week's charts? Hold your horses - not Gears 2 yet. You've got Fallout 3, Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant, Quantum of Solace and... yes, well... Manhunt 2.

You can see all the charts in depth right here.

All Formats Chart
(NE)- 1 - Fable II - Microsoft
(NE)- 2 - Far Cry 2 - Ubisoft
(2)- 3 - FIFA 09 - Electronic Arts
(1)- 4 - PRO Evolution Soccer 2009 - Konami
(3)- 5 - Saints Row 2 - THQ
(NE)- 6 - Dead Space - Electronic Arts
(4)- 7 - Lego Batman: The Video Game - Warner Bros
(5)- 8 - Wii Fit - Nintendo
(6)- 9 - Mario Kart Wii - Nintendo
(NE)- 10 - Midnight Club: Los Angeles - Rock Star

I had the same problem with my PSP and Lumines I & II. She didn't stop until I finally bought a laptop for the house, last November, and now she has ebay instead, which to me seems a waist of a £700 laptop. At least I can get my hands back the my PSP.
My advice, take a months break form the 360, and if she still wants to spend more time in Albion than the real world, then you'll have to fork out.

Who needs a £700 laptop? You can get an XB360 and Fable 2 for £150. And you'd still have enough money left to buy a TV for it.

Maybe, just maybe, there are some things an Xbox can't do, and a laptop can.

Well if you want to spend more money to get something superior to an XBox 360, then fair enough; but if you're buying it for someone else, and only because your XBox 360 is in use, then I'm still not sure it's necessary.

If your laptop's in use, then perhaps buying another laptop would make sense, however.

Well she finished the story element last night, me still only at the abbott monk part and little pissed as i have seen the ending, and she is continuing her adventure as she wants to find every chest and open the demon doors (sigh) and today she purchased Fable lost chapters. i guess ill play a bit of DS or PSP this month :(

I bought the laptop for both of us to use, but as my girlfriend had never used a PC and wasn't sure that she'd use it that much, and I was keen to try some PC games, I put in a bit more cash. However, that's not what happened as she now buys clothes on Ebay to sell from the shop she runs.
As for a second laptop she's going to buy that for herself (hopefully).

Is she going after all of the achievements? The "Swingers" achievement is maybe not one for the kids find out about, unless they've already covered that at school of course.
