This week marks the appearance of the Dark Knight in the UK Charts, but LEGO Batman
has been unable to take down the might of Electronic Arts' FIFA 09
. The footy title still sits pretty at Number 1, while LEGO Batman
has to settle for a Number 2 début.
That's not to say that Warner Bros' exercise in construction for the Caped Crusader hasn't performed admirably, however. It's Warner's biggest ever game launch, released over all seven major formats. Gfk Chart-Track tells us the platform breakdown goes thusly - ?22% of sales on Xbox 360, 22% on budget PS2, 20% on Wii, 17% on PS3, 12% on DS, 6% on PSP and 1% on PC.?
While the Wii might line up third in the LEGO Batman
stakes, it does pretty well in the Top 10 overall. Six of the titles up there are either Wii-exclusive or selling best on that platform. The remaining four are doing their best work on the 360.
Nintendo's Wii Fit
is up one place to Number 3 thanks to replenished stock, while LucasArts' Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
drops two places to sit below it at Number 4. Ubisoft also succumbs to the power of LEGO Batman
and replenished Wii Fit
stock, with Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway
also dropping two places to Number 5.
The Wii's Top 10 presence is bolstered by Atari's Family Trainer
breaking in there at Number 9. Nintendo's Mario Kart Wii
and Wii Play
are both still going strong at Numbers 6 and 7 respectively.
Down at the bottom of the Top 10 are EA's Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09
, down two places at Number 8 and THQ's Wii-exclusive, Big Beach Sports
, also down two spots to put it at Number 10.
Next week, watch out for THQ's Saints Row 2
, SEGA's Golden Axe: Beast Rider
and Konami's PES 2009
