David Jaffe, the creator of God of War, won't be getting up on stage at GameCity 3. He will, however, be taking questions from the comfort of his desk via a videolink all the way from San Diego.

He's the first announced participant in a series of events dubbed "From the Desk of..." taking place at GameCity 3 in Nottingham from October 30th - November 1st this year.

Jaffe, for his part, seems pretty pleased to be doing his bit for the environment by not getting on a plane. "I'm really ****ing stoked. I've been working for a long-time on ways to keep up on festival appearances, whilst still doing my bit for the environment. This is a great opportunity for me to remain essentially stationary, meet the GameCity festival crowd AND reduce my carbon footprint..." he uttered.

Jaffe, if you've somehow managed to not come across him before, is the designer behind God of War, Twisted Metal and Calling all Cars. He's currently working on an unannounced project for his new company, Eat, Sleep, Play.

Anyway, the announcement tells us he "Will be appearing without the aid of a PR representative to answer ALL your questions after guiding us through his desktop." Maybe we can tease some details of that new game out of him without any PR meddling to get in the way.

You might already be familiar with the inside of Jaffe's office if you caught his response to Brett Ratner (of X-Men 3 fame) directing the upcoming God of War film. If you didn't, you can see it here.

you know we could also make fun of him by saying "who's afraid of a bit of cold weather?" or somat like that.

or we could be offended maybe he secretly hates Britain?

or you could just give him credit for using some of this lovely technology we've developed to obviate the need for him to hemicircumnavigate the globe...
