Microsoft Confirms "No Plans" For Gears 2 on PC
Following comments from Epic, Microsoft has piped up about the prospect of Gears of War 2 hitting the PC. They're not good

A Microsoft rep has stated the company has, “no plans to release Gears of War 2 on the PC”.

Epic design director Cliff Bleszinski recently said that, "Gears of War is a great franchise first and foremost for Xbox 360, and therefore we're focusing on that platform for Gears of War 2. We've decided we're not going to do a PC version this time around." Of course, it wouldn't have been unheard of for a PC port to be bundled off to another developer. Microsoft, however, seems fairly adamant that we won't see such a thing happening.

Sure, it was half a year after the launch of the first Gears on the 360 before the PC version was announced, but if Microsoft was planning a similar delayed port, it would certainly have "plans" for it by now.

You can find out more about Gears 2 on SPOnG's dedicated game page.

The PC is the worst system to make games for given the amount of piracy but although consoles are too effected by this if companies focused on shutting down these mod chip selling sites and perhaps used a different type of medium for games on the PC I think piracy could greatly be reduced if not hopefully one day eliminated.

PC games are just far too easy to crack and when someone slaps on anti-piracy protection on games many start complaining its not fair like with the Mass Effect issue on the PC.

If we compare the selection of games compared to PC the consoles definently have a bigger arsenal of choice and imo far better online gaming when comparing PC vs Xbox 360 as the Xbox 360 offers soo much more and simplicaty and no messing about with resources.

You really are such a F**ktard!, even with piracy what do you think the install base of PC`s are? i believe the latest figure was 80 mega-gillion and therefore games sell well on PC, i swear you pluck this s**t you spout from the fountain of bullshit, piracy hits consoles harder than it hits PC, look at the PSP, The DS, The PSone, The PS2, The Snes, The N64, The XBOX, The 360, The Wii and recently the PS3 each and everyone of them is fully open to easy Piracy if your willing to do it, or layout the intial costs, infact the PSP would cost you feck all to pirate all you need is a memory stick!, Even the Dreamcast and Gamecube with there own Disc formats were pirated with relative ease!

as for anti pircay software no one complains its on there they complain about the limitations it restricts you too, 3 installs crap or whatever stupid idea they have. what really makes me laugh fanbaby, is your f**king 360 is a PC with both hardware and software antipiracy techniques, and when was the last time you played online gaming on a PC its far superior to the 360`s, Mouse and Keyboard for starters! the only part of online gaming with 360 i like over PC gaming (FPS TALKING HERE) is Halo3.

Firstly lets look at how Crysis did...Poorly why? Piracy. Mass Effect? Poorly as well.

Overall the only games that seem to do really well are usually MMO's like World Of Warcraft.

If we look at the installed userbase of PC's yes its obviously going to be much larger than consoles BUT not every PC owner is a PC gamer.

When we look at the selection of games available on the PC compared to consoles not only do they vary quite a lot in the offering the selection on a games console is far more than that of a PC.

How many AAA titles on PC's? How many top end titles on PC's coming out all the time or weekly or monthly or even developers talking about them? Crysis was the only one along with FarCry 2 other than that when we look at consoles we see things like Fable 2 being talked about, Gears 2, Resistance 2, MGS4 etc.

Or...they both sucked in the eyes of the PC-gamer. Really, games that suck sometimes do not sell at all...like with sucky movies! It's not because they have huge budgets trown at them that it garantees great sales. I mean Mass Effect is a RPG retro-geared as a shooter or otherwise the Xbots won't buy it at all (hey, if you generalise, i can too) and is full of itself with dreadfull dialogue that's literally everywhere to jump you. And Crysis is a tech-demo, it is in no way a real game. It's a tech-demo where you happen to be able to shoot stuff.

The only reason i can see PC-games sales trailling downwards is because PC-games aren't made anymore with a PC-mindset but are ports of a console version. Hell, even PC-specific games are being made in a console mindset. I blame Halo for this...bloody casual Poor Man's fps...ruined all our adrenaline fast-paced PC-gaming into this slow-ass bullshit that's more concerned with looking awesome then actually being awesome trough the gamers own actions.

How you like that you pseudo-hardcore gaming mongerers...your buying attitude is actually killing a form of gaming but you're too busy whining about your own way to see it actually dieing.

Damn...Hearts of Iron 3...4th quarter of 2009...that's a long wait...

the black and wight speaks agen lets put things into easy format for the single track mind
the xbox is a pc the 360 is a pc the big selling games on the 360 are pc games in one form or anther
piracy is bigger on consoles that on pc but it is around every type of media ( i bet if we look at you pc there is something the not meant to be there
gears of war on pc looks 100% better than that of the 360 but hay its the same with every game you see on pc versus 360 but hay you probably don't no that as a ges you have some pre built pile of crap that struggles playing minesweeper
