Just when you thought that rhythm-based gaming could not get more cashed-in on here comes yet one more twist. "Grab the guitar and play along with top Christian bands! Shred those riffs or blast the bass…you add a unique sound to the solid Christian rock!" Got your attention? Thought so. That's what Digital Praise wants you to do when you pick up its upcoming guitar-based rhythm title,
Guitar Praise.
Excited? You will be! The game features all your favourites, such as Caedmons Call, Jonah33 and Whitecross. SPOnG's favourite feature is described by Digital Praise as follows - "Onscreen lyrics reflect Christian values. Vocalists can sing their hearts out as their friends play the guitar."
No mention of a mic peripheral is made, so presumably you're expected to freestyle it...
Bitter sarcasm aside, we're sure that little Christians will be thrilled to rock out to the sound of their favourite Christian rock acts while their chums are having their souls despoiled by the sound of Ozzy Osbourne's evil cackling in
Guitar Hero World Tour. Actually, they could also be having their souls turned Scientological by the likes of Beck on
Rock Band. Yes, the young Christian rocker will become super-awesomely popular as everybody comes round to his house to hear The Word as translated into a language today's youf understands.
There's no word yet on whether
GHWT or
Rock Band 2 controllers will be compatible with the game. But, if you don't like suffocation, don't hold your breath.
Digital Praise is the company that brought you such hits as
Dance Praise and
Solomon Says.
Guitar Praise will be out on September 25th in the States for the PC and Mac.
We cannot wait to complete our collection of 'ligious rhythm games with the following:
Ganesh Hero IIIRock BuddhaMuslim Music Mash-Up XIIIand of course,
