The 80Gb PlayStation 3 that was due to ship on August 27th in the UK appears to have moved to the 22nd - if you look at Gamestation, GAME and Amazon (but not HMV, which appears to be having a wee problem updating its website).
The 27th date had been announced by
SCEE's top-man, David Reeves in July. The change in 80Gb date has not been confirmed by SCEE, however, it comes shortly after the date change for the PlayTV set top box (STB) was
changed by nine days. The previous date had already been stated by Reeves.
The new PS3 date comes even more shortly after
SCEE's Nick Caplin denied price cuts would be mentioned for the PS3 at this week's Leipzig Game Developers Convention.
