A new
Sonic the Hedgehog game is heading exclusively to the Wii. Dubbed
Sonic and the Black Knight, the title will be part of the 'Storybook' series that kicked off with
Sonic and the Secret Rings.
The game, which is being developed by Sonic Team in Japan, will have the Blue Blur dashing around the world of Arthurian legend.
A
Nintendo Power cover has turned up showing the spiky fella brandishing a sword with a gauntlet on his hand. It's rumoured
† that the game will feature swordplay that makes use of the Wii Remote, although nothing has been confirmed by SEGA. Fingers in the SPOnG Underwater Castle are crossed. Maybe a spot of
MotionPlus support could be in order...?
The game is set for release in Spring next year. Other than that details are sparse, we're afraid.
Sonic and the Secret Rings was well-received - more so than SEGA's first crack at a next-gen
Sonic game,
Sonic the Hedgehog, which
left a bad taste in SPOnG's mouth.
We'll bring you more details as we get them.
