Where is Europe's Metal Gear Solid 4 Database?

If you're sat on the European side of the Atlantic and are hoping to take a look through the Metal Gear Solid 4 database on your PS3 this morning, you are disappointed.

While the database is available today on the U.S. PlayStation Network, there's no sign of it on the European store. The idea that this is a localisation issue is - we hope - laughable, given the amount of time and effort put into getting the game itself ready for a simultaneous global release. We Brits are also sadly used to (and prepared for) U.S./English-English content.

SPOnG has contacted Sony to find out why, but no comment was available at the time of press.

The database, in Sony's words, offers "Information on characters, weapons and plot elements from Metal Gear (1987) to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (2008), accessible from three different perspectives: an encyclopedia, a relationship map, and a timeline. This digital supplement is a must-have for every Metal Gear fan!".
