Activision has said that it will unveil Call of Duty: World at War this weekend - and remember, if you call it Call of Duty 5 you will be shot as we don't 'do' numbers any more.
The big reveal will come via Xbox Live Marketplace in video form. The video will be available from June 21st - June 22nd, or Saturday and Sunday, if you prefer.
Details about the game are still thin on the ground, but the blurb text from Activision currently stands at, "Call of Duty: World at War redefines WWII, challenging players to survive the most harrowing and climactic battles of the Pacific and European theatres.”
Back to World War II. SPOnG can't help but wonder whether the decision to go back to World War II is linked to the fact that Treyarch is developing the game. Perhaps the 'modern warfare' aspect of CoD4 will be left to CoD6, which will hopefully be developed by Infinity Ward? Give us your thoughts in the Forum.

I just wanna say that u guys are so freaking stuiped i ve never rlly been a fan of the call of duty series until call of duty 4 MODERN WARFARE came i would have to say that i will not be buying or possibly not evening renting the call of duty FIVE is based in the old times because its just stuiped no one cares about the old times hell as a gamer myself i think call of duty 4 has been the best war game yet...ever one enjoys the new weapons and being involved with that future no wants to wait ten hours to reload and the shot again....As a gamer for xbox im very disappointed in the Infinity ward because they can do so much better than selling this to another company...I would bet a bunch of stuff that the people being consumers will not be as high as call of duty 4s

I loved call of duty 1 and 2, I love ww2 shooters, your an idiot cause lots of people like that stuff, bolt action rifles aren't for halo fans.
