New Metal Gear Rumoured

Metal Gear Solid 4 isn't even out yet, but already rumours are surfacing of a new Metal Gear - this one on the PSP.

The game in question will apparently bear the title Metal Gear 3: Revolver Ocelot and take place between Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

The information comes from PlayStation Forum poster Acid_Ocelot, who credits it to Russian site StarSniper. StarSniper was down at the time of press. While taking this with a pinch of salt seems like a good idea, there is the blurry image to the right to back up the rumour...

Acid_Ocelot states that the game has a similar recruitment system to Portable Ops with, as you might expect from the title, Revolver Ocelot as the main character. Big Boss will also reportedly make and appearance, but in a supervisory role in the construction of Outer Heaven rather than as a playable character.

There was talk of MGS4 being the last game in the series to benefit from the involvement of series creator, Hideo Kojima, but he recently confirmed that he would continue to be attached to the series in some capacity.
