Gears of War 2 may be coming out on November 16th, if a rumour doing the rounds is to be believed.

The date comes from a Wizard World Philly panel in which TriForce revealed its life-size replicas of Gears weapons. In attendance was Lester "Mighty Rasta" Speight - the man who delivered the voice of Cole Train in Gears of War. Asked about the release date for Gears 2, the TriForce team kept schtum. Mighty Rasta, however, suggested asking him again on November 16th.

The date falls on a Tuesday, which is the usual day of release for new games in the States. It also falls within the announced launch window of November. Of course, Mighty Rasta might have just said to ask him then so he could call us morons and tell us it came out on November 9th...

Then, of course, there were the life-size replicas and weapons (pictured left). Triforce, which specialises in 1:1 scale replicas of gear from films, games, animation and comics, has said that it will produce C.O.G. Armor, a C.O.G. helmet and the Lancer Assault Rifle. When it says "1:1 scale replicas" in this case, we assume the company means "1 and a bit:1", looking at the size of beefcake, Marcus Fenix and his boys in the game.

The replicas are being created in conjunction with sculptor Sid Garrand, who said, “I have been a huge fan of Gears of War since its release in November of 2006. In my spare time I sculpted a full set of armor for myself, which I enjoyed showing off at conventions. When the fans saw it they all asked me how they could get it. I was thrilled when the team from Epic saw it, and liked it, which allowed us to move to the point to where we are today. It all truly began as a labor of love.”

Orders will be taken for the kit online as of July 8th.
