Chilli Peppers' Chad Smith Bangs Guitar Hero Drums

Video shows off Guitar Hero drums

Guitar Hero World Tour, the next big game in the franchise that brought rhythm games to glory, will feature drums. It's a complete bolt from the blue. Everyone thinks so... really.

In case there's anyone out there who missed that little nugget of information when the game was announced last week, Activision has put out a video celebrating the fact.

Below, you'll find the likes of Chad Smith from The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Stuart Copeland from The Police lending their professional opinion on the drum kit to Activision and Red Octane. They seem so impressed that you could almost be forgiven for thinking Harmonix didn't announce that there would be drums in Rock Band over a year ago...

It's a big-ish problem, however, that's the nature of the industry, to be honest!

You can complain as much as you like (legitimately), but if it's cheaper or better than the predecessors, I'm probably not going to complain - that is the beauty of the same thing being done separately by different creators.

Other than that, though, it is a bit of a shame that they didn't do something a bit more original instead. Although, being able to record and create your own tracks probably fills that gap.
