Japan to get Another MGS4 PS3 Bundle

Or three, depending on how you look at it...

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has announced that it will launch another Metal Gear Solid 4 hardware bundle alongside the gun metal grey pack that has already been confirmed.

Well, you might want to call it three bundles. The bundle(s) include the game, a Sixaxis AND a Dual Shock 3 controller and a 40GB PS3 in one of the three colours the console is commonly available in over in Japan. That's 'Clear Black', 'Ceramic White' and 'Satin Silver' if you haven't been keeping count.

Sony says the bundle is “a limited offer” and will be available from June 12th, the date MGS4 goes on sale in Japan. It will cost ¥49,800 (£239.50)

The US will also have more than one MGS4 PlayStation 3 bundle. Europe, meanwhile, currently has a total of zero MGS4 bundles announced.

And speaking to Sony in Europe today, we're told, "We have no plans to release it in Europe at this time."

Europe being the second biggest area for gaming is really getting treated like the worst area for gaming...I dont understand the economics in this at all.

Unfortunately I think its a case of Japan and the US being home to the console manufacturers, so they give their home crowd some nice deals and then give the others home market special treatment to try and win some low blows. Europe is seen as the neutral battleground where they can ease off and compete without added implications.

That coupled with they probably see Europe not as "Europe", but as "the UK", "France", etc. The individual countries arent that important. But I agree with you, the sum of the parts is greater than the whole (or some clever expression like that..), so really they should treat Europe in the same calibre.
