Some Silent Hill: Homecoming Screens to Darken Your Day

Get your afternoon dose of eerie here

Posted by Staff
Konami has released fresh Silent Hill: Homecoming screenshots into the wild. SPOnG has them below for you to commit to memory and take to sleep with you tonight (unless you're reading this tonight or tonite, even).

We feel obliged to warn you - if you're looking for something to brighten your day, this batch of screens probably won't. If, however, you're looking for something to give you a sense of deep foreboding with a dash of impending doom, these latest images will be just the ticket.

In case you didn't spot it already, Konami has put an official name (which we already gave away) and date to the next-gen instalment of its survival horror series.

You can find some of the new screens below and the rest on SPOnG's dedicated game page.

Try saying something sensible, Hari.

Another Silent Hill game, it looks good but that's all I can say.

There's danger here for Konami. Now that the MGS series is over they really have to seek to create some brand new IP. Silent Hill is being left in the wake of RE4 still, I guess Konami have noticed this with the RE4 viewpoint change.

However the real problem Konami have is Silent Hill itself. Silent Hill is based in a small american town, whereas RE series takes place in varying locations, helping keep the series fresh. In contrast, how many times can a person visit Silent Hill and get bored of it, as cool as the universe is? Perhaps the series needs a rest (as they pushed out a PSP one recently).

When I think of survival horror RE does it all the time, and with RE5 due soon, Silent Hill Homecoming is an after thought.

Maybe Konami should look into another ZoE game. Or something more, cause Capcom have them on the ropes by far. I wonder what they'll do next, beyond Silent Hill?
