The week is drawing to a close, which means it's time to take a peek at what Nintendo's offering up on Virtual Console today.
This week we've got Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom, originally published by SEGA on the Mega Drive in 1991, just after they invented colour. It's a role-playing adventure set against a mythic backdrop. Certain younger inhabitants of the SPOnG Underwater Castle are beginning to suspect there was a lot of paranoia about the white slave trade in the '80s and '90s, because Phantasy Star III joins the long list of games featuring a chap chasing after his kidnapped girlfriend. Did women keep getting nicked? Or did gamers just keep getting dumped?*
Nintendo informs us that "Hours of fun can be had as numerous choices are available to players within the game, dramatically impacting the way the story unfolds". All that for 800 Wii Points!
This week's offering brings Virtual Console's running total up to 206 titles.
