Mario Kart Wii's a Quick Tour in Screens

It's coming... look busy.

Nintendo has given Mario Kart Wii one last heave-ho into the world, trying to clear just a little bit more space in our hearts and minds for the little (fat) guy with his crazy little kart.

Below we have a tour of some of the tracks on offer. Waluigi's stadium, Delfino Square, DK's Snowboard Cross, Sherbert Land... the old, the new, it's all present and accounted for.

Mario and his chums screech into shops today, a whole two weeks before our friends on the other side of that great big salty pond we call the Atlantic. Colour SPOnG smug...

Yeah, just had this delivered this morning (for a bargain price of £30.99). The wheel is really cool, I was expecting it to be a bit rubbish but even without the Wiimote inserted it feels very nice in the hands and I'm really looking forward to getting home and hooking it up!

I've always loved the Mario Kart series, the SNES version was always a great laugh and the N64 battle mode was terrific fun too. Me and the Mrs still fire up the N64 and have a blast at the GP mode where (by necessity) I have to let her win :-)

The 'Cube version was good but not the best in the series, my wife never really adapted to the whole two-person dynamic and she never got on with the GC pad either so I haven't clocked in as many hours on this version.

The DS version is pure handheld brilliance too! The online mode was ruined in my opinion by the snaking ability but everything else about the game was pure gaming joy :-) I can't remember anything about the GBA version though, even though I own it - was it really that unremarkable?

Oh, I really want to go home and start playing now, typing all that has just sparked my imagination....
