"Sometimes, death is all you can see..."
You read that with a gritty Hollywood voice-over lilt, right? No? Go back and read it again. Got it? Good. Nothing like a bit of gravelly death in the morning to get the juices flowing and bait anti-gaming crusader Jack Thompson.
Yup, the sound of a voice like mountains rubbing together, a dash of
Sin City-style animation, a spot of ultra-violence and you've got the perfect way to kick off the marketing campaign for what's sure to be one of the biggest games of the year,
Gears of War 2.
You can see it for yourself below. You might want to check out the first snippets of artwork and place-holder packshots while you're down there, too.
The video follows the game's developer, Epic Games,
announcing at Microsoft's Game Developers Conference keynote that
Gears 2 will be released in November.
