Team 17 Gets into Bed with Carmen Electra and Shannon Elizabeth

New Leisure Suit Larry comes in tow...

Ha! The Quagmire of his day.
Ha! The Quagmire of his day.
The cycle of life has rolled around so that, once again, Leisure Suit Larry becomes a post-ironic and/or Jackassedly-funny entertainment option.

Yes, we are soon to be blessed with Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust - an innuendo-filled romp around Hollywood no less.

And why not? If Family Guy can get away with Quagmire, the letch-about-town, then why can't Sierra dredge up dear old Larry once again and make a buck or three? No bloody reason at all. Sophomores and their nostalgic dads can play it together in a psychologically discomfiting slice of social gaming.

The really good news is that the addition of some good, decent, Yorkshire humour could be brought to the game by local Worms developer Team17 - which is developing the title according to the press info. We do wonder, however, if "Get your coat, love. You're pulled" will translate to southern California.

What of the game itself? It's (as ever) a third-person adventure game. This time, "Larry takes a summer job working on his uncle Larry's (eh?) movie lot doing odd jobs and trying to uncover a mole from another studio who threatens to air the studio's dirty laundry in the tabloids."

"Additionally, the game will feature an all-new Directors Game that allows the player to create their very own 'Larry Feature'" - Giggedy-giggedy-giggedy... awwww-riiiight!

The cast - who we will expect to see down at Wakefield bar, Fernandez - includes:

Jay Mohr (Last Comic Standing) - who?
Dave Attell (Insomniac) - not that Insomniac, apparently he's a comedian.
Shannon Elizabeth (American Pie) - Giggedy-giggedy-giggedy!
Carmen Electra (Starsky and Hutch) - Starsky and wha?
Artie Lange (Mad TV) - who?
Patrick Warburton (Family Guy) - Okay.
Jeffrey Tambor (Arrested Development) - Sure, fine.
Nikki Cox (Las Vegas) - Eh?
Peter Graves (Mission Impossible) - Zzzzz
Jane Lynch (The 40 Year Old Virgin) - Nice lady.
Josh Keaton (The Spectacular Spider-Man) as the voice of Larry Loveage - Mmm...

We have tried to get some comment from the Team17 lads, but apparently they're cleaning the place up in anticipation of the ladies' arrival. More news when we get it.

Expect all you want - you won't be seeing the cast in Yorkshire any time soon :)
