Darth Vader and Yoda are set to make guest appearances in Soul Calibur IV. If that's not cause to rejoice, SPOnG doesn't know what is. Now, however, the bad news. The characters are to be platform-exclusive, well specific.
Darth Vader will be playable only in the PlayStation 3 version of the game. Yoda will do his blurry jumpy thing only in the Xbox 360 version.
So, yes you will be able to zing lightsaber against sword; but no, you won't be able to see lightsabers clash. Unless...
...unless Namco Bandai has some other Star Wars characters up its sleeve that it hasn't told us about yet. After all, why license Vader and Yoda without bothering to get Luke Skywalker, Darth Maul and Mace Windu? Unless, of course, you don't want your game to be seen as a Star Wars beat-'em-up. SPOnG's hopes remain high, nonetheless, that Namco Bandai will announce more Star Wars characters either as part of the retail version of the game or as downloadable content.
Other out-of-left-field characters set to appear in Soul Calibur IV include Spawn and Link. To see more on the game, visit SPOnG's dedicated game page. First, you can get a taste of what's in store for Vader and Yoda in the footage below.
Cripes. Does anyone remember 'Masters of Teras Kasi'? Hopefully this will undo some of the damage that did.
Star Wars characters don't really go with the Stage of History though, Link worked OK, Spawn was a bit strange and I can't remember who the PS2 one was. Was it someone from Tekken or VF?

I dont like the idea personally they should mix Star Wars in there like that.
It will make the game seem very weird.
Talim all the way!

Who was the chap with the big stick? He worked well with the Dreamcast fishing rod.
Ahh, happy times.

That game wasn't terrible but it certainly was not good. The PS2 character was the old guy from Tekken, thought I don't recall his name as I hate the Tekken franchise...
The real problem here is going to be the character balancing. Darth Vader and Yoda, legendary icons; does anyone actually think they're NOT going to be super powerful characters with a very cheap move? Think about it.
