It's official, 2008 is here – so says Chart-Track and the UK All Formats chart. Every game in the All Formats Top 40 loses sales this week, with Ubisoft's
Assassin’s Creed taking the worst hit, losing 70% and the Number 1 spot.
Electronic Arts'
FIFA 08 moves in to fill the vacuum at Number 1, occupying the same position as it did at this point last year.
Activision's
Call of Duty 4 also climbs up a spot to Number 2, with EA's
The Simpsons Game following suit and climbing a place to Number 3.
Number 4 is where
Assassin's Creed's sales drop has landed it. Other movers and shakers in the Top 10 are SEGA's
The Golden Compass and THQ's
WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2008. They switch places, with
Smackdown Vs Raw climbing the Charts cage from Number 10 to Number 7 and
The Golden Compass (or
Northern Lights, as a certain SPOnGer - who dislikes Americans changing book titles for movies - belligerently insist on calling it
±) doing the opposite.
Otherwise, the Top 10 is static. You can see it below, then head over to SPOnG's
Charts Page for the Top 40 in full.
Next week... well, don't expect anything dramatic, with the only new release lined up being
Buzz! The Schools Quiz for the PS2.
