Grand Theft Auto IV for April Release?

Take Two "convicted" on second quarter

Grand Theft Auto IV for April Release?
A report suggests that Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV won't be coming out as early as we'd all like. April 25th is the date that's the doing the rounds.

Speaking about the date, a Rockstar rep just told SPOnG, "We don't comment on rumour or speculation, although we can point you in the direction of Take-Two's conference call yesterday that stated GTA IV would be coming in the company's second quarter which runs from Feb through to the end of April."

Indeed it did. In fact, when asked what his "conviction level" for the second quarter shipping date is, Take Two's chairman of the board, Strauss Zelnick, said, "We wouldn’t say it if we weren’t convicted." Oh dear... we remain convinced that Strauss still has the best name in gaming though.

If the date proves to be correct, it won't make Take-Two's prior statements about a second quarter release date wrong - but it will place the game just about as late in that time frame as it could possibly be.

Ben Feder, Take Two's CEO and director, also once again flattened any hopes of seeing a Wii version of GTA IV, saying, "no disrespect meant for the platform, but I think there are other titles that are better suited to the Wii than Grand Theft Auto IV."

If you still find yourself scratching your head about GTA IV and wondering what all the fuss is about, take a look at SPOnG's preview for a spot of enlightenment.

I dont remember Rockstar ever delaying the previous GTA's but if they have to with this one they good I hope it turns out to be a very fluid game with no graphical hiccups or frame rate issues.

However graphically the character models could really do with some more polys unless thats they best they can do with current experience with both platforms as am sure in the next 2 yrs graphics like on last gen will further improve.
