Phantasy Star online goes multi-platform As Sega GameCube Development Confirmed
Sega of Japan has been hosting a series of press conferences recently, the most interesting of which described the company’s multi-platform strategy in greater depth.

Sega has gone on record to state that it will be developing for the Nintendo GameCube, a fact that, considering Sega will be making games for PC, Xbox, Game Boy Advance and PlayStation 2, is hardly surprising.

“We are delighted to confirm that the Nintendo GameCube forms part of our plans for multi-platform gaming in the future,” said a Sega spokesman. “We believe that we will be able to deliver games appealing to fans of both Sega and Nintendo without catering for just one sector.”

Nintendo also went on record to state that the immensely popular Phantasy Star Online would be ported to a variety of next generation consoles, though which consoles were not divulged. Sega did however state that every attempt possible would be made to ensure that any future version of the game would be compatible with the Dreamcast game.
