SEGA has officially confirmed that Dreamcast classic Samba De Amigo is heading for the Wii in Spring 2008.
We say 'officially', because the game appearing on the cover of N-Power a while ago was a bit of a give-away.
Still, SEGA's not saying a vast amount yet. As you'd expect, the Wii Remote and Nunchuck are used as maracas while visual cues flash up on screen for you to shake your stuff, meaning that we won't have to invest in additional peripherals to play the game.
It has also been confirmed that Gearbox Software is on development chores, an odd choice given that thus far the company has heavily specialised in the FPS genre.
We're promised "a samba-infused soundtrack comprised of popular new songs as well as fan-favourites from the original game" by SEGA, although exactly which songs we can expect is going to be revealed over the next few months, as are details of new features.
Keep your eyes on SPOnG for more information as we get it.
