Bruce Lee Wields Wii Remote On A Skateboard
Credit where credit's due, SPOnG reckons. Some of the good chaps at Next Level Games, the developer behind the Mario Strikers: Charged Football series, have leant their talents to painting some skateboard decks with their favourite games characters for charity - not just any charity, a kids' charity.

The board-painting exploits mark the fifth anniversary of the Canadian developer. The boards are being auctioned off, with all funds going to the BC (British Columbia, to you non-Canucks) Children’s hospital foundation.

At the time of press, the boards are going at $50 Canadian a pop, that's a measly 25 quid to us Brits. For a hand-painted deck showing Bruce Lee with a Wii Remote, we reckon that's not bad. Alas, bidding is only open to residents of Canada. Absolutely everyone has relatives out there, though, don't they?

"As a skater and a gamer, it's great to see Next Level taking this initiative. Though it's a shame they didn't publicise it a bit better, so we wouldn't get halfway through the auction with many decks still on their opening bids. Although I prefer phat decks like the Sims Eric Nash I picked up for 20 bucks on eBay recently to these nu-skool lollipop stick affairs, I'm gonna bung a bid on the Rory Doyle Fly Times or the Nelson Dedos Garcia because they're purdy, and it's for charidee. I urge everyone out there to outbid me. Bah, the miserable bastards say 'The auction is open to all Canadian and U.S. residents over the age majority.' So fuck 'em if my British money isn't good enough for them. That's our Queen on your vingty dollar, bastards!" said SPOnG's own gnarly, middle-aged shredder, DoctorDee (Shurely, 'gnarled'.. Ed).

You can see the decks in all their splendour here. Pay close attention to SPOnG's personal favourite, the Vader.
