Back when Gamecock first
announced its plans to release a survival-horror FPS on the DS, SPOnG was mightily pleased to see a publisher embracing the genre on Nintendo's handheld.
Having seen the new video for
Dementium: the Ward, below, however, we're not sure that Gamecock doesn't want to just generate itself a bit of hype by getting the game banned.
Video game imagery is inter-cut with actual video footage over which Marilyn Manson (who was, of course, entirely to blame for Columbine - that was irony, before the Manson fanboys pile in) renders his version of 1980s MORockers, Eurythmics'
Sweet Dreams Are Made of This.
In terms of the reaction it seeks to gain, it's sort of the trailer equivalent of throwing your own poo through an OAP's window to the sounds of Charles Manson followers murdering Sharon Tate. In terms of the reaction it evokes, it's more like watching someone throwing some chocolate spread through his own window to the sound of a girl called Sharon whining at the Tate Gallery.
In any case, tuck into the video and screens below to see whether
Dementium: The Ward will tempt you away from
Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training. You can find out more on SPOnG's
dedicated game page.
