Does Halo 3 Top Xbox Live?

Sit down, get yourself a glass of water, put some Ribena (or any other fruit-based, cordial beverage) in it, this is going to come as a shock. Halo 3 has flown to the top of the 'Live Activity' rankings on Xbox Live.

It's a shocker, we know, but the game has successfully nudged (who are we kidding? Shoved with the force of a thousand falling truckers) Gears of War down to the Number 2 spot, with Rainbow Six Vegas below it.

Meanwhile, the Top Arcade Titles ranking is dominated by retro fun, with Sonic the Hedgehog 2 ruling the roost, followed by Bomberman Live and Streets of Rage 2.

The news, of course, comes as absolutely no shock. Halo 3 launched last week, earning the title of 'the biggest entertainment launch in history' amidst a furore of celebrity attention and feverish gamers storming the streets of London. You can read SPOnG's coverage of the launch here.
