EA Boogies Onto DS And PS2: First Video

3D glasses included!

Electronic Arts is bringing Boogie, which launched for the Wii last week, to the DS and PS2.

The DS version (which EA's announcement seems to suggest the publisher's more excited about) will feature what EA calls "the first 3D gameplay on the handheld system". The "first 3D gameplay" will come courtesy of some pack-in 3D glasses.

Additionally, EA tells us, "Boogie on Nintendo DS introduces new gameplay modes and mini-games not found in the Wii version for easy gaming on the go. The game’s unique modes include DS Download Play and Multi-Card Play, three main dancing gamplay modes including Copycat, Freestyle and Choreography as well as more than 10 mini-games."

The PS2 version, by comparison, doesn't seem to include any new features. In fact, it looks suspiciously like an attempt by EA to recoup some of the money spent developing it for the Wii without giving any of the benefits offered by the Wii control system. Still, with Boogie's disappointing sales performance, who can blame it?

Both versions are set for release in time for Greedmas. You can get a taster of the DS version in the video and screens below. Download your 3D glasses to watch it with here.

That last bit was a lie.
