Rumour Bust: PSP Lite WILL Ship With Video Cables

No ceramic white model yet

SPOnG can happily confirm that, despite rumours to the contrary, the PSP Lite will ship with video cables from launch in the UK.

SPOnG contacted Sony following the emergence of rumours originating from Games Radar, that the cables - which are a big selling point of the new PSP and enable games and other media to be played via a TV - won't be made available from day one. A Sony representative told us, "the PSP Slim and Lite cables will be available at launch".

It's not all sunshine and laughter, however. The other part of the rumour, which was allegedly prompted by comments from a GAME representative, has been confirmed. "...we won't have the White SKU until October", the Sony rep told us. Nightmare - as long as we get the Red Spider-Man and yellow Simpsons colour combinations we can just about live it.

The PSP Lite is available from September 14th for £129.99.

doesn't really look that much diffrent?... i think they should of gone for another Analogue nub, the old PSP can still play the games like they do now, but at least it moves the PSP 4ward.

That's sweet but I can't say I'm buying another one. Analogue was never practical to have on a handheld anyway, though I understand the problems with it.

It would have made sense to have the analogue on the right and not the left. Oh well. How much is a PSP Slim going to set me back anyway?

they couldnt add another nub because it would exclude previous owners of the PSP Phat, and also i cant understand why everyone is moaning about the redesign, when the DS, PSone, PS2, were all redesigned they just made them smaller and sleeker with little improvements and everyone was ok with that, they didnt add and analog nub on the DS or a Hard disk to the ps2 why becasue they couldnt exclude the millions of previous purchasers, sure it would be nice to have a hard disk or extra nubs if you intend on getting a new one but id be pretty pissed if i couldnt play the next GTA on my psp becasue it need HD or needed two analog nubs,

but fat PSP owners wont be excluded?????!??... imagine Coded Arms 2 comes out, & it has "Dual analogue capabilty!" on the box, its just a diffrent control setting!, they still have the old default settings for the d-pad & 1 nub. Its simple, no one excluded, just helps move the PSP on, if ur a hardcore gamer then u'll upgrade (like me) if not, u wont give a fcuk because u'll be
playing Loco Roco & brain training for the rest of your life. It would be a way of Sony giving something to the "gamers!!!", instead of stupid fcuking add ons for the morons who bought a
PSP for a CAMERA! or a SAT NAV! or whatever the fcuk they try & bolt on to it next!!!....
think Sony , think!! I'm sure developers would of loved it.

For once hollywooda I agree with you, it wouldn't of excluded anyone if they added a second nub. It would just allow new psp buyers a better control system for FPS, old psp owners would still have the old (not very good) control method. In fact it would of been a good nintendo style "forced" upgrade marketing ploy. Giving old PSP owners a good reason to upgrade.

You were never going to get the cables in with the PSP. However, they are available as accessories. This story was busting the rumour that the cables would not be available as accessories alongside the new PSP model when it launched.
