Sammo Hung’s official website states that he will be directing the Soul Calibur movie, the agreement for which was finalised this week.
With a budget of $50 million, the martial arts hero and mainstay of classic eighties Hong Kong cinema is planning something big.
“With its medieval setting, shooting locations will probably be Eastern Europe and China,” said Sammo. “The film will probably have an international cast to reflect the global popularity of the game. Hopefully this film will get Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao involved in some capacity--a reunion of sorts.”
Hung made his name acting and producing along side Jackie Chan in classics such as Snake In The Eagle’s Shadow, Drunken Master and The Magnificent Butcher.
