Sony Computer Entertainment staff were pleasantly bemused at the battle for attention between the world’s finest driving game and a mosquito. Confused? You should be.
As press and gamers finished examining Final Fantasy X, arguably the star of this year’s Tokyo Game Show, they were presented with a seemingly simple choice. Have a nosy at the finalised and complete version of Gran Turismo 3 or have a go at being a mosquito.
SCE has developed the insect version of Metal Gear Solid and it placed you in charge of a cheeky winged bloodsucker. The only playable level was a slightly voyeuristic teenage girl’s bedroom level. The only objective seemed to be to spy on the girl as she slept and pottered about her room. We know you’re smiling as you read this.
If you get too close to the front of the girl or make your buzzing about too obvious, you’re in trouble. As soon as you are spotted, the beautiful girl becomes a death-hungry murder vixen and tries to kill you. Battle mode ensues and you must dodge the waving hand attacks of your sleepy assailant.
The final title was not revealed at the show, with the game being referred to as “the mosquito game,” but SCE did say that a finalised version would be available later this year.
It is expected that the mozzy will be robotic and will have to complete various spying missions. How cool is that!?
