Sonic Rush Adventures releases on DS next month and, if the latest trailer is anything to go by it could well be a much-needed return to form for the much-loved series.
SEGA informs us that in
Sonic Rush Adventures Sonic gets involved in a “new high-seas adventure where he clashes with ruthless pirates… players will set off from Windmill Village to explore seven action-packed levels featuring the classic 2D gameplay that the Sonic series is known for… players will get to explore the action stages to uncover valuable items and materials which allow Tails to build new ships that help Sonic explore the high-seas.”
Sonic Rush Adventures looks very much like classic Sonic gameplay, although we’re not entirely convinced about the strange looking 3D action stages. We’ll let you know more about how those play when we get our hands on the game over at SEGA pretty soon.
With a fleet of up to five ships, including a submarine, water bike, and hovercraft, players also get to use the touch screen to control their ships “as they race across the ocean gathering rings, busting tricks, and torching pirate ships in fierce ship-to-ship battles. At the end of each level, players will test their skills in epic 3D boss battles that span both screens, including the ultimate showdown with the evil pirate, Captain Whisker. Let the adventure begin!”
For now, feast your eyes on this...
