Skate is going to be one of the videogames of 2007, certainly it's going to be up there in SPOnG's top three sports titles, when we get to December and decide to take a wry look over the year in games just gone.
Indeed, the game has spawned two distinct camps in the SPOnG office of late: those who know one end of a skateboard from the other and are excited about EA's virtual-polyurethane-wheels-on-7-ply-maple dream game; and those who think that skate board is where you slice up fish.
If you have ever invested any time or broken bones into skateboarding then you really are going to love the news that the first fully playable demo of
Skate releases via Xbox LIVE tomorrow.
If you want to know why
Skate is going to give Activision's
Tony Hawk’s franchise a run for its money this coming autumn then just check out the latest video from
Skate right below, in which you get a good overview of some of the aspects of the game that have turned us on so far – including every skater’s dream of nailing a
Thrasher magazine cover-shoot, getting into the exclusive Plan B skate team and, best of all, getting an exclusive ride at Danny Way’s dream skatepark (the same park that is that Way is currently building, in the real world, out in Hawaii).
So there we go. A good enough reason to put
BioShock down for ten minutes if there ever was one. Hell, perhaps
the only reason to put
BioShock down for ten minutes…
Skate releases on Xbox 360 later in October and on PS3 early in November.
