Activision has decided to take us into the savage world of pro skating with this latest video for Tony Hawk's Proving Ground.
Does anyone remember the good old days, though? Back when skating wasn't about getting rich and finding your way onto Cribs? Back when your days would be filled by standing on hills, looking out for houses with pools and no occupants before heading down, making use of L.A.'s strange penchant for bowl-shaped pools and waiting for the cops to show...

The THUG storyline elements can suck a fat one - they stink of publisher-interference in what was (until THPS4) a truly pure game. The deepening control inside the Tony Hawk fantasy-skate-possibility world is a winner for me.
This and SKATE means only goodness for us all. I love it when videogames just get it right.

The Roses are in Guitar Hero III and there are the two best skateboarding videogames ever made coming out in the next couple of months. I am genuinely excited about all of this and, being a bit of a miserable clunt by nature, it's not often I get *genuinely* excited.
