Sega and Namco have jointly placed full-page adverts in Japan’s leading national newspaper, Nikkei. There is nothing too unusual about this in itself, the companies regularly advertise in the Nikkei.
The thing is, the adverts feature Akira from Virtua Fighter and Jin from Tekken and are on opposing pages.
It now seems that the game, long-rumoured in Japan, is about to become a reality. How the game will be developed is a question we would like answered.
Crossover fighting titles have been produced for some time, and with some aplomb. SNK Vs Capcom has been a great success, and a sequel is about to be shown at the Tokyo Game Show. How Sega’s AM2 Team and Namco team up will be interesting.
