Can't wait for
Wii Fitness? Not to worry, peripheral manufacturer Pega has something to tide you over until the game gets released along with the Balance Board; it's the
Wii Sports Gage.
We think it should be Wii Sports Guage, but we didn't make it.
The new peripheral will monitor "the times of movement while playing action based Wii Games", according to gadgets e-tailer DealExtreme. It will also allow you to "View your exercise time directly and accurately from the display screen". It all comes in a bizarre bone shape for the tidy sum of $6.98 (£3.48).
Nifty, eh? Except that Pega has said nothing to indicate that the peripheral actually interacts with the Wii in any way. So, in other words, its a pedometer with some Wii branding slapped on.
SPOnG's become used to developers jumping on the Nintendo band wagon with endless derivative brain training games chucked at the DS, but this cynical attempt to make some quick cash off the back of
Wii Sports takes the biscuit.
SPOnG will shortly be announcing the release of its
Wii Fitness Bottle peripheral. The innovative new piece of hardware will allow active gamers to remain hydrated as they burn off calories while wearing the
Wii Fitness Sports Bra.
SPOnG also wants to know what the f**king f**k the bone shape and the gorilla on the packaging are all about. Answers in the Forum, please.
