World Of Warcraft's User Flood

Blizzard has just sent word that its hugely popular MMORPG, World of Warcraft, has just hit another milestone. Namely, the game now has an impressive 9 million users worldwide.

Blizzard also reports that it's hard at work with its partner, The9, to get the game's first expansion, The Burning Crusade (released here in January) ready for release in China and expects its user base to swell once again after launch.

“We’re thrilled that gamers around the world have continued to embrace World of Warcraft so enthusiastically,” said Mike Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment in the obligatory corporo-quote. “We’ve worked hard to provide a compelling experience for our players, and we plan to continue updating the game with exciting new content for them to enjoy for many years to come.”

Some might argue that the American Medical Association now has 9 million reasons to classify gaming as an addiction. But not SPOnG. Nosiree...

i wont play this game for fear of addicition, imean i have a job, family and no time as it is, i so wanna play it, but i cant go back to being 17 in my bedroom unknowing womans touch only venturing out to my job at GAME!, and they gonig home to play muliplayer quake 2 (XL Clan) all night with sky one/Deep space nine keeping me company with occasional stops for required bowls of crunchy nut cornflakes and cans of diet coke and the odd porn site!

those days are gone and i miss them :-(

Ha! Everyone is a warcraft addict.
I saw this site a while ago. It suggests using Warcraft as a crack substitute for drug addicts.
