Blizzard has just sent word that its hugely popular MMORPG,
World of Warcraft, has just hit another milestone. Namely, the game now has an impressive 9 million users worldwide.
Blizzard also reports that it's hard at work with its partner, The9, to get the game's first expansion,
The Burning Crusade (released here in
January) ready for release in China and expects its user base to swell once again after launch.
“We’re thrilled that gamers around the world have continued to embrace
World of Warcraft so enthusiastically,” said Mike Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment in the obligatory corporo-quote. “We’ve worked hard to provide a compelling experience for our players, and we plan to continue updating the game with exciting new content for them to enjoy for many years to come.”
Some might argue that the American Medical Association now has 9 million reasons to
