Alan Wake Slips to 2008

Remedy's cerebral, story-led adventure not out this year

SPOnG has been wondering what was happening with Remedy’s Alan Wake, with little being said about or shown on the title at Min-E3 earlier this month.

Well, it seems that the game is slipping quietly into 2008, a real shame for those gamers looking for a story-led, more cerebral experience on Xbox 360 in 2007.

Microsoft Games Studios’ boss Shane Kim told a recent E3 interviewer that:

“The great thing about Alan Wake is that people responded really well to Alan Wake. We want to nurture that. It's not a 2007 title, which is why we're not showing it here. And we don't need to show it behind closed doors now. Enough said there."

Remedy Entertainment is of course best known for its work on the Max Payne series.

SPOnG will be keeping our beady eyes on Alan Wake and we really hope that we get to see the final version sometime before Christmas 2008.

"the worst thing about launching 2008 is launching 2008"
