Capcom's New 2D Fighter Finally Revealed

No, its not a new arcade Street Fighter

Posted by Staff
You may remember the pre-E3 gossip about a new 2D fighting game from the mighty Capcom. Well, its finally been unveiled and its not a new arcade Street Fighter IV as many were speculating.

What it is, according to Japanese gaming bible, Famitsu, this week, is Sengoku Basara X, presumably a follow up to Sengoku Basara (or Devil Kings in your language).

A total of 10 characters such as Devil King (Oda Nobunaga), Scorpio (Sanada Yukimura), Azure Dragon (Date Masamune), Forst (Uesugi Kenshin) and Iron Ox (Honda Tadakatsu) will be playable.

Sengoku Basara X is set to hit Japanese arcades this coming winter.

SPOnG will be bringing you our full Japanese arcade update when we make our pilgrimage to the Tokyo Game Show this coming September.

Also watch out for SPOnG's full and frank interview with Capcom's head of development, Keiji Inafune, in the coming days.

There are no 2D screens yet, so Spong have just displayed 3D ones instead. Either way, Devil Kings is enjoyable 3D game series and has some good characters in it. A 2D game should be interesting. Hope its good Capcom, you've got so much to learn from Arc Systems.
