Konami is working on a successor to the online
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence for the PS3. Additionally, the company has announced that an expansion of
Portable Ops for the PSP is on the way.
The news comes from Sony's PlayStation Premiere event in Japan yesterday. Following a demonstration of
Metal Gear Solid 4 in action, Hideo Kojima – creator of the
Metal Gear Solid series – said that the online functionality of
Subsistence was such a success that Konami wants to rinse and repeat. Little more was said, but it was confirmed that the new game will be for the PS3 and more details will be revealed at
Metal Gear's 20th anniversary party next week.
