Fighting Bowser sees Mario wearing a little thin this week on Virtual Console. Like, paper thin.
You've guessed it, right? It's
Paper Mario formerly of N64 fame! Saying Mario's made of paper and only 2D shouldn't be much of a stretch on the tried and tested formula but; rather than opt for straightforward side-scrolling action, Nintendo went and made the game 3D.
Paper Mario's an RPG which sets the plump plumber off on a quest to free the Star Spirits from Bowser. It should, at least, tide us over until we get
Super Paper Mario on September 14th.
Paper Mario is all yours for 1,000 Wii Points.
The other title on offer this week from Virtual Console is
Air Zonk from the Turbografx and the year 1992. This cute-'em-up sees Zonk forming Team Cool (which, by the way, SPOnG was already using for its darts team by 1992) to take on the nefarious King Drool in a side-scrolling shootery manner. Hilarity, of course, ensues. You can buy
Air Zonk for 600 Wii Points.
We're now up to a total of 111 games available via Virtual Console.
