Thanks to kidnapping laws in the U.S. a 31 year old Australian woman is under arrest for allegedly attempting to kidnap her 17 year-old American
WoW boyfriend.
Tamara Broome was arrested by three detectives when she was en route to meet her beau. The two had shared a year long courtship in the virtual world and according to
News.com.au intended to marry. Broome was arrested as it was thought she was in the U.S. to lure her online lover back to Australia. It appears, however, that she may have been set up by the lad’s parents.
According to Broome’s housemate, the teenager’s parents paid for her trip to the U.S. so the two could get together and sort out their relationship. He was stopped attempting to board a plane to the great southern land while she was picked up by the detectives boarding a train near the teenagers house in North Carolina.
Broome is currently behind bars in the Pitt County Detention Centre, North Carolina with an absolutely ludicrous $2.35 (£1.17) million bond and a court date set for July 11.
Parents: 1,
WoW relationship: 0.
There have been a few hilarious Parents vs WoW stories of late (the infamous
Kara cry incident being one of the classiest), but barely-legal Broome ambush is a little over the top.
